Doing my best to frame the subject with something in the foreground in a lot of these pictures. Also this 烟鬼 (chain smoker) was hilarious.

Made a small visit to a Miao village in the Guizhou countryside. Originally the plan was to visit Xijiang village in Qiandongnan "city", but it was overrun with tourists. On day 2, we made a b-line to the nearest village named Kong Bai Cun, where we found noone. Most people had up and left to "da gong" or find work in a larger city. After a few hours of walking around we stumbled upon these two kind souls pictured, where they took us back to their home (constructed by themselves nearly a decade back) where we were wined and dined with rice alcohol and some staple foods.

Made it to Seoul, South Korea finally! The place is immaculate! The thing that struck me first (coming from Zunyi) was the cleanliness and organization. With the exception of a few HUGE piles of trash on random street corners, recycling and trash disposal was tip-top. Took me a second to get used to the idea again....which bin does this go in?
Was amazed at 20 something women's ability to never make eye-contact with me. Just any acknowledgment that I was there would have been okay. I guess I was having some kind of withdrawal from the constant finger pointing and shouting of "hello" and "laowai" in Zunyi. Strange, especially considering how some days I can't possibly think of anything more annoying than the attention I get from people in Zunyi.
